Prerequisite: CJ 100  or by permission of Instructor. This course is designed to familiarize students with the ethnographic research method.  Ethnography is a scientific approach to investigating and learning about social and community patterns.  In addition to course readings and class discussions, students will immerse themselves into another community for the purpose of describing human conditions within the community of interest.  In the end, the students may develop a criminology rooted theory based upon their observations and inclusion of the community members' voices. 3 credits
