FIRE 2200 - Fundamentals of Fire Protection Engineering


Prerequisites: M 117  , CH 115  , EAS 107  , and E 105  ; or consent of department. This course provides an introduction to the field of fire protection engineering through a survey of combustion phenomenon, the methods of fire detection, and the theories of fire suppression. Students examine the impact of fires on buildings and human response to fires. Fire protection through design and codes are also introduced. 3 credits
