CSCI 6649 - Enterprise Network Design
Prerequisite: ELEC 6610 or CSCI 6642 . Building on foundation knowledge of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and the OSI model, both large and small network designs are explored through lectures, labs, and an individual and a major group project. Topics and labs include Windows server administration, UNIX connectivity, Ethernet and Token Ring networks, implementing WANs using a simulated T1 environment, wireless LAN environments, configuring DSL routers, multi-vendor routers, managed switches, and network packet examination.
3 credit hours.
