EASC 1101 - Short Engineering Reports


Co-requisite: EASC 1112 . Prerequisite or co-requisite: ENGL 1105  or ENGL 1106  or ENGL 1112  or ENGL 1113  or higher. EASC1101 is a 1-credit course in the Project to Integrate Technical Communication Habits (PITCH), with a focus on the development of short engineering reports to convey technical information to a variety of audiences. Topics include report organization, consideration of the audience, appropriate content, effective data presentations and writing effective introductions and conclusions. Principles of Clarity, Organization, Precision and Economy (COPE) are emphasized. Student work is reviewed by both peers and the instructor. Students use feedback to  revise and resubmit work. The course is taught in online format and is closely integrated with EASC1112 Methods of Engineering Analysis. 3 credits.
