ELEC 6648 - Microwave Engineering Prerequisites: undergraduate course in electromagnetics; programming experience, preferably in MATLAB; graduate standing or consent of the instructor. This course is designed to familiarize the students with microwave components and their operating principles. This course covers transmission line, including microstrip and coplanar waveguides, impedance matching, S parameters, Smith chart, couplers/dividers, waveguides, EM simulators, and antennas. Some homework assignments may require use of computer-aided design software. 3 credits.
