LSTD 4440 - Law and Policy

Prerequisites: junior or senior standing, LSTD 1100 or LSTD 1105 or PUBS 1101. Reviews and evaluates selected current law and policy issues and considers underlying philosophical principles including justice, rule of law, and democratic ideals, and the extent to which our legal system gives effect to or undermines these principles. Examines both the effectiveness as well as limitations of using law to implement policy initiatives. 3 credits.
