ATHL 6701 - Athletic Performance Enhancement Prerequisite: ATHL 6605 . This course provides an introduction to integrated training principles and theories and focuses on the practical application of program design for sport-specific clients. Students will learn how to choose and perform appropriate sports performance testing. Students will also learn how to assess and perform flexibility, cardiorespiratory, core, balance, plyometric, speed, agility, quickness, integrated resistance, and Olympic lifting training for performance enhancement. This course will cover the science of periodization and program design, specifically program design for sports performance training. Students will learn about injury prevention techniques, sports nutrition, performance aids, and sports psychology. 3 credits.
