ELEC 6610 - Computer Networks The main objective of this course is to provide the students with the basic fundamentals of the computer networks and the data communication techniques. It will present a balanced view of the vital elements of networking and how those elements can fit together into the big picture of the overall network system. The course will include a broad set of topics in data communication networking, considering different parts of the network, TCP/IP and OSI, transmission media, Data Link Layer, the Medium Access Control Sub-layer, networking devices and topologies, including LAN, WAN. This course will have a number of laboratory exercises. 3 credits.
