SLPA 5403 - Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing


The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the anatomy (structure) and physiology (function) of the systems and processes involved in human speech production. The anatomical and physiological bases of normal speech and hearing processes, including respiration, phonation, articulation, and hearing, will be covered within this course. Knowledge gained serves as a prerequisite for understanding disorders of these systems. 3 credits.
