PADM 6612 - Public School Operations

This course introduces the basic duties of the School Business Official (SBO), including finance, budgeting, food services, transportation, grants, collective bargaining, pensions, and the Board of Education (BOE) policies. The twelve-month cycle of school business duties will be outlined and cover budgeting, preparing for school opening, monthly financial reports, end of the fiscal year spending, and preparing for the annual audit. Special Education and its Excess Cost reimbursement will be explained. 3 credits.
