HTMG 6640 - Global Sustainable Tourism Management

This course introduces the concepts of sustainability and sustainable development in a global tourism management context. The principles of sustainable tourism and its practical application from the point of view of global tourism destinations and tourism businesses will be explored. Includes a comprehensive review of the tourism planning and policy process used to develop or modify major tourism destinations. Tourism benefits and costs are included in assessing net global impacts. Laboratory fee. 3 credits.
