PHAS 6073 - Women's Health Prerequisite: successful completion of 56 credit hours within the Physician Associate program. Women's Health supervised clinical practice experience is a 5-week clinical practice course focused on the health care needs of women. Students will be placed with clinical practitioners who specialize in the delivery of care to women in a variety of healthcare settings. Students are expected to assess and manage common gynecologic problems, provide prenatal and postnatal care, preventative women's health services, and patient education. Students are expected to refine and build on the techniques and clinical skills acquired during their didactic phase. Students will develop a more in-depth, specialty focused, understanding of the best practices of diagnostic workups, and interpreting diagnostic studies specific to the conditions commonly treated in women's health. 4 credits.
