CM 315 - Transport Operations I Prerequisites: EAS 224 AND M 203 Application of transport phenomena principles to systems involving momentum, heat, and mass transfer with emphasis on equipment design. Use of microscopic and macroscopic balances, continuity and Navier-Stokes principles, and turbulent flow theories to develop mathematical models of physical systems with applications in fluid mechanics, thermal energy transport, and mass transfer. Topics include design of piping systems, filters, heat exchangers, evaporators, absorbers, and others of current interest. 3 credits
