BIOM 6650 - Medical Imaging Systems Prerequisites: MECH 6602 , ELEC 6603 , ELEC 6650 or instructor's consent. This course will provide an introduction to the operation and fundamentals of the standard medical imaging under contemporary use. The course will also provide understanding of the basic physics and engineering principles leading to the development of these imaging techniques. 1-D and 2-D image processing and analysis techniques will be discussed for each of these techniques. The imaging techniques will include ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) , X-Ray Computed Tomography (X-Ray CT) , and Positron Emission Tomography (PET).
