ACCT 4437 - International Accounting and Taxation Prerequisite: ACCT 4436 or equivalent. This course examines the basis and underlying framework of international accounting and taxation and applies those standards and theories to practice. Discussion will center upon the elements of global accounting from a financial, managerial, tax, and audit perspective. Highlights include the development and convergence of international accounting standards, taxation of transnational transactions, and quantifying and reporting financial risks such as foreign exchange and hedging transactions. The course also addresses a range of matters including transfer pricing, tax treaties, and tax incentives as well as other strategic accounting issues related to multinational corporations. 3 credits
