Paramedicine, B.S. Online Degree Completion for Nationally Registered Paramedics

Our degree completion program allows certified paramedics an opportunity to advance their education and earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Paramedicine. Students entering the program must already be certified as paramedics through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

Based on the NREMT requirements for licensure, credit is granted for a majority of the Paramedicine program's major requirements. The student must complete the remaining coursework required for the bachelor's degree at the University as well as additional credits in Paramedicine to satisfy residency requirements. The B.S. program normally can be completed in two years with full-time study or approximately four years part time.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES:
  1. An ability to understand, interpret and apply EMS and general medical knowledge necessary to function in a healthcare setting.
  2. An ability to perform a broad range of paramedic level EMS skills both difficult and routine.
  3. An ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner and show proficiency in
  4. interpersonal relations and communication.
  5. An ability to enroll and function in a physician's assistant, respiratory therapy, nursing or medical school post-baccalaureate program.
  6. An ability to perform at a mid-level supervisor position in an emergency services or healthcare organization.
