It is designed to meet the program requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Program outcomes:
- Students will demonstrate competence in all 8 core domains of counseling, as well as the concentration of clinical mental health counseling.
-
Students will successfully synthesize major theoretical concepts in the core counseling curriculum and their concentration area with their practicum experience.
-
Students will demonstrate, at a professional level, applied intervention skills in the internship.
Concentration in Community Development
The 12-credit community development concentration provides students with additional skills focused on the administration of both traditional and non-traditional programs and services. The concentration addresses planning, development, and evaluation of innovative approaches to treatment and prevention in the public and private human service sectors as well as in business and industry.
