Marine Biology Minor

Requirements for Minors
- At least 50% of the minor courses must be unduplicated, i.e., not used to simultaneously satisfy credit requirements of the major, core curriculum, or additional minors.
- At least 50% of the minor courses must be completed in residence at UNH.
- A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in the minor (programs may set higher requirements).
- A student may not declare a major and minor in the same program.
The Marine Biology Minor offers students across the university the opportunity to enhance their degree program while gaining a deeper understanding of the ocean and the organisms that live there. The minor consists of a minimum of 18 credits. All students must complete MARN 2200 Oceanography and MARN 1101 Introduction to Marine Biology and will select one organismal course and one marine biology restricted elective in consultation with the minor coordinator.
Upon completion of the Marine Biology minor, the student will be able to:
- communicate scientific concepts regarding the biological, chemical and physical components of marine systems in an effective manner.

Plus one of the following organismal courses (4 credits)
Plus one Marine Biology restricted elective (minimum 3 credits)
