Students earning a B.A. degree in Communication with a concentration in Sports Media and Production will build knowledge and competencies related to the coverage of sports through storytelling across multiple media platforms. Coursework will emphasize writing, media & live production, journalism, internships, and practicums which include connections to The Charger Bulletin newspaper, Horseshoe Magazine, Charger Bulletin News television program, and Chargers Sports Network. A senior-year capstone will match students with faculty or a media professional to complete a complex project and/or production. Upon program completion, students will learn to become a well-rounded production team leader, content contributor, or on-air presenter in sports and news.

Demonstrate interpersonal and applied communication skills in human communication theory, writing for the media, and media design and production.
