Fire Science, Fire Safety Management Concentration, B.S.

The bachelor of science in fire science with a concentration in fire safety management is designed to offer the technical and general education requirements for graduates to be able to perform at the supervisory and higher levels.  The students who complete this program will qualify for leadership positions in fire and emergency services.  The program builds on basic fire science and emergency management principles which would have been learned at the Firefighter II level and allow the student to gain the knowledge and understanding of information required for work at a supervisory level within the fire service.  Students will obtain a sound educational foundation coupled with a broad spectrum of technical information that will help them perform the duties of a fire officer within their jurisdiction.

Required Courses


Students earning the B.S. degree in fire science are required to complete at least 122 credits including the University Core Curriculum and the common courses for fire science listed below, some of which fulfill requirements of the University Core Curriculum.

Concentration in Fire Safety Management


Students earning the B.S. in fire science with a concentration in fire safety management must complete 122 credits including the University Core Curriculum, the common courses for fire science majors listed above, and the courses listed below, some of which fulfill requirements of the University Core Curriculum.
