MATH 2227 - Mathematics for Elementary Education Teachers Prerequisite: MATH 1110 or placement by the department (not open to math majors). From the point of view of a teacher, this is a review of the mathematics topics covered in elementary school and it covers the mathematical underpinnings of such topics as whole numbers, fractions, number theory, geometry, and measurement. Problem solving will be an underlying theme to the course. Not open to math majors. 3 credits.
