MUSR 2201 - Recording Fundamentals

Prerequisite: PHYS 1100 or PHYS 1150. A study of the fundamentals of sound recording technique and methodology: acoustics, basic electronics, the decibel, magnetism, microphones, microphone placement, tape recorders, tape formats, mixers, signal processing and monitoring systems. This course also emphasizes the importance of sound aesthetics and ethics in the sound recording process. 3 credits.
