NSEC 4409 - International Organizations and Counter-Terrorism

Prerequisite: ENGL 1110 or ENGL 1112 or ENGL 1113. A study of terrorism and the international response to this phenomenon: who are terrorists and what steps are governments obligated to take under international law to prevent and suppress their activity? How is the international community responding to facilitating technical assistance to states and regional groupings to help them respond to terrorism? How have the 18 international instruments and relevant United Nations and regional resolutions on counter-terrorism been effective in responding to international terrorism and how can their impact be evaluated?
