SCLP 2254 - Portrait Sculpture (Lyme Academy)

Prerequisite: SCLP 1155. In this course, students will model from life, at first using points and measurements.  By training the eye in this way, students will begin to see and understand three-dimensional planes, forms, and the construction of the head and will work toward achieving a likeness reflecting the character of the model.  Throughout the course, students are encouraged and guided in developing their own interpretation of the model through a pose of the head and its expression.  Students will also explore the creative exploration of portraiture by altering physical features and exaggerating characteristics of the model. 1.5-3 credits.
