ARTS 3331 - Contemporary Art This course focuses on European and American art movements since 1950. The course explores the rise, development, and influence of abstract expressionism, pop art, conceptual art, and post-modernism on the perception and understanding of the art object. Emphasis is placed on economic, historical, and technological developments surrounding the production and understanding of contemporary art making. 3 credits.
