HIST 3312 - Modern U.S. History This course explores the United States in the 20th century and how these major historical events shaped the United States politically, economically, socially, culturally and technologically. The issues and topics to be studied include: the social and economic transformations caused by industrialization, urbanization and migration; the societal and political struggles of race, ethnicity, religion and citizenship; and the challenges of the world wars, the Cold War and the effect on the United States as a world power and how these events have shaped American politics, society and culture. 3 credits.
