PSCI 2244 - Model United Nations Prerequisites: consent of the instructor; PSCI 4408 is highly recommended. This course is an experiential course that provides students with a comprehensive, simulated experience of some of the workings of the United Nations. Students serve as delegates from specific countries tasked with researching, creating, negotiating, arguing for, and voting on solutions to some of the world's most pressing problems. At the conclusion of the course, students are required to produce a position paper that explains a set of global problems, identifies previously enacted solutions, and fully articulates new proposed solutions developed as part of taking an active and engaged role in the Model United Nations simulation/competition. This course is repeatable up to a maximum of 6 hours. 3 credits.
