PARA 1141 - Foundations of Emergency Medical Services Systems


This course will provide an overview of the design and operation of Emergency Medical Service systems, delivery of services, and the echelons of care. The history of EMS, the interface of public and private organizations, and review of the various personnel who comprise these systems and the essential role they play will be examined in relation to their impact on the health-care delivery system. This course may be taught through a special agreement with the Yale New Haven Hospital Center for EMS. Cross-listed with FIRE 1141 . 3 credits.
