PSYC 2235 - Health Psychology


Prerequisite: PSYC 1111  or PSYC 1112 .  This course examines the factors involved in health, physical illness, and healthcare using a multidisciplinary (psychophysiological and social) model. Health promotion and illness prevention are discussed. The interaction between physicians and patients as well as health-seeking behaviors are discussed. Psychological responses to chronic and terminal illness are also examined from the patient and caretaker perspective. 3 credits.
