BIOL 1125 - Biology Foundations with Laboratory Prerequisites: MATH 1104 or higher, ENGL 1112 or 1113 or 1114. Co-requisite: BIOL 1126 - you must enroll in a section of BIOL 1126 before you can enroll in BIOL 1125. This course is an exploration of foundational concepts including biological organization at different scales, integration of systems within organisms, the structure and function of genes, the ecological and evolutionary context of human beings, and the biology of human diversity and behavior. Material will be applied to developing a biological understanding of important social topics. Students will develop and apply skills in scientific literacy and method, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. Intended for non-science majors. Laboratory fee; 4 credits.
