HTMG 3340 - Global Sustainable Tourism Management

Prerequisite: HTMG 1165. Introduces the concepts of sustainability and sustainable development in a global tourism management context. Analysis will cover the principles of sustainable tourism and its practical application from the point of view of the global tourism destinations and tourism businesses. Includes a comprehensive review of the tourism planning and policy process used to develop or modify major tourism destinations. Tourism benefits and costs are included in assessing net global impacts. 3 credits.
