SPAN 4402 - U.S. Latino Literature and Culture Prerequisite: SPAN 3301 or placement test or consent of the instructor. This course presents and explores a survey of U.S. Latino literature and culture. It analyzes key literary and cultural representations of Latino identities with a focus on ethnic, gender, political, and socioeconomic specificities as well as historical and contemporary relationships to Latin America, Spain, and the U.S. The course includes literary, film, and musical productions from key periods of the region's history. The course is taught in Spanish. 3 credits.
