HIST 3313 - Poverty in America This course examines the social and institutional history of poverty in American society. It will explore the causes and effects of poverty on individuals and larger communities. Major topics covered will include the history private and government-backed efforts at addressing poverty, and how perceptions of the poor and the causes of poverty change over time. 3 credits.
