CHIN 4401 - Chinese Culture Through Literature and the Media


Prerequisite: 2000-level CHIN course or testing placement. This course is a comprehensive exposure to essential Chinese cultural issues and patterns as they have developed historically. It will study how these issues manifest through representative works of literature as well as popular and highbrow cultural media such as music and film. The course will also provide a unique opportunity to produce in-depth cultural and literary analyses via oral discussion and written essays. Students will perform select written and oral activities in English. Cross-listed with GLBS 4402 . 3 credits.
