CHEM 3360 - Structure and Mechanism in Biological Chemistry Prerequisite: CHEM 2202 . This course is an organic chemist's view of biochemistry, emphasizing a structural and mechanistic approach to the chemistry of life. It will also illustrate examples of the laboratory synthesis of proteins and polysaccharides, the design of certain drugs for medicinal applications, the chemistry of certain classes of Natural Products (secondary metabolites), and the chemistry of organic heterocycles. 3 credits.
