MATH 1165 - Mathematical Modeling of Epidemic Processes


Prerequisite: MATH 1117 .  This is an introductory course to mathematical models of epidemics and pandemics, Kermack-McKendrick model, SIR, SIS, SEIR models, techniques of determination of infection, recovery rates and the reproduction number R0, modeling of scenarios, stability analysis in 1-D case, fitting models to real data, optimal strategies, and stochastic models. The course is designed for biology, engineering, physics, and mathematics students. 3 credits.
