SLPA 6700 - Neurogenic Speech Disorders This course will develop an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of speech production as it relates to motor speech disorders and their treatment. Differential diagnosis will be stressed in discussion of etiology and basic characteristics of motor speech disorders across the age continuum. The overall aim is to equip students with knowledge of theoretical constructs, assessment, and treatment of acquired motor speech disorders. Successful completion of this course will prepare students for clinical practicums with acquired neurogenic speech disorders in a variety of medical, residential, and outpatient settings. 2 credits.
