CIVL 4411 - Highway Engineering

Prerequisites: CIVL 2203, CIVL 3301. A review of the fundamentals of highway engineering in the context of transportation infrastructure and systems including street/roadway/highway design, modern roundabout design, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities. These systems will be reviewed in the rural, suburban areas with a focus on the urban condition. The design elements for these facilities will be reviewed from the planning to final design process including survey layout, drainage, soils, roadside design, and grading as well as cost estimating. 3 credits.
