ENGL 3350 - Video Games as Literature Prerequisite: ENGL 1112 or ENGL 1113 or ENGL 1114 . An advanced study of video games as literary texts. This course will examine a selection of video games notable for narrative achievements and examine them in a literary framework. Students will study the games in their historical, social, and cultural contexts and focus on interpreting, analyzing, and critiquing the games through literary methods and theories. Also studied will be the impact that video games and gaming rhetoric have had on traditional literary texts. 3 credits.
