SLPA 6805 - Clinical Practicum III Prerequisite: SLPA 6704 . The purpose of this clinical practicum is to provide SLP graduate students with clinical experiences in a school-based placement, thus, qualifying them to earn an endorsement for an initial educator certificate in Connecticut (#061). It is the expectation that students will apply coursework knowledge and skills to their clinical practice as school-based SLP graduate students. Through these experiences, SLP graduate students will continue to develop and refine their clinical skills to best prepare them for a career as a school-based SLP. The primary focus of this clinical practicum is to provide graduate SLP students the opportunity to work directly with school-age children who have communication disorders and to develop skills for being an effective member of the pupil personnel services team to develop educational plans to meet the diverse needs of individual students. Complete a minimum of 220 clinical contact hours. 6 credits.
