RUSS 6612 - Intermediate Russian II

Prerequisite: RUSS 6611. This course builds on the grammatical structures and expands the vocabulary acquired in Intermediate Russian I. Greater focus will be placed on discussion of cultural topics and improving oral, writing, and reading proficiency. More complex texts and cultural materials in various media will play a central role in reinforcing linguistic skills, guiding conversation, and offering greater insight into contemporary Russian customs and society. In addition, students will watch a cultural video series in Russian over the course of the semester and prepare short weekly journal assignments that engage new vocabulary and cultural content. A final oral project designed by the student will be due at the end of the semester. This course is conducted entirely in Russian. 3 credits.
