THEA 1132 - Race, Class, and Gender in Contemporary Performance A study of identity as expressed through performance in theater and other media. The course focuses on issues of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, age, and disability. Students read scripts and watch performance texts; gain exposure to artists who engage with identity politics in performance; engage with a wide range of performance theories; and develop their own performance pieces by applying the theories and methods they study. 3 credits.
