PHYS 2205 - Electromagnetism and Optics with Laboratory

Prerequisite: PHYS 1150 . Co-requisite: PHYS 2206. Prerequisite or co-requisite: MATH 1118. A second semester, calculus based physics course for physical science and engineering majors. Fundamentals of electromagnetism and optics. Electric field and potential, capacitance, resistance, direct and alternating current circuits, magnetic field, electromagnetic induction, Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic waves, light, reflection and refraction, interference and diffraction, optical instruments. Laboratory fee. 4 credits.
