ITAL 2222 - Italian Culture, Literature, and Media No prerequisites - open to all proficiency levels. This course introduces students to the history of Italian society through Italian artistic mediums such as literature, music, cinema, and the visual arts. The course explores the issues underpinning the highlights of Italian history from Unification to today through the critical analysis of their representations by Italian artists and performers. Students acquire a deeper understanding of how historical eras have affected today's culture, and how heritage and national history are shaped by the ways in which they are represented in popular culture. Students will perform selected written and oral activities in Italian. 3 credits.
