HLTH 2276 - Patient Care Technician with Laboratory

Prerequisite: HLTH 1100. This course provides students with the entry-level knowledge and skills necessary to sit for the National Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) examination. Course work will include theory and clinical components. PCT's provide direct patient care including, but not limited to, patient assessment, obtaining vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, safety and infection control, and electrocardiography. This comprehensive, 414-hour course is designed for learners interested in becoming a patient care technician. Laboratory fee; 9 credits.
