HLTH 3502 - Interventions and Rehabilitation to Reduce Esports Effects

Prerequisite: HLTH 1500. This course will study the impact of esports upon overall physical, mental, and spiritual factors that can occur through the participation in esports. Students will learn how to screen for warning signs of risk of injury while employing techniques to try and mitigate injury to enhance performance. They will also learn about the variety of rehabilitation options if an injury was to occur and the timeline for recovery and future risks. The course will also examine the mental component to esports which may lead to decreased performance of the competitor thus leading to decreased outcomes in the competitive arena. 3 credits.
