ENVS 4553 - Environmental Microbiology

Prerequisites: CHEM 2201, BIOL 3301 or BIOL 3320. This class is an advanced study of environmental microbiology, with special attention paid to the phylogenetic and metabolic diversity of microorganisms in the environment, the way that they affect nutrient cycling, the ways they can remediate human pollutants, and how they contribute to both inter- and intra-domain communication and symbioses.
