NSEC 2255 - Introduction to the History of Cryptography The course introduces the underlying principles and design of cryptosystems. The course explores the basics concepts of cryptography including: classical cryptography and uses of codes and ciphers used in the U.S. Civil War, interwar years, the 20th century world wars and the Cold War. Students will also examine the process of creating codes and ciphers and their solutions. 3 credits.
