CSCI 1109 - Introduction to Computing

Prerequisite or co-requisite: MATH 1110 or higher. An introduction to computational thinking topics central to computing majors: algorithms, elementary theory, cryptography, security, and representation. Students work in groups to solve and analyze algorithmic puzzles, then submit reports detailing their solution processes. Students learn problem-solving techniques through the process of design, implementation, testing, and documentation using the programming language Python. 3 credits.
