FORS 6603 - FIGG Practicum Prerequisite or co-requisite: FORS 6602 . This practicum course provides students with the opportunity to apply their Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG) knowledge to mock FIGG cases. The student will complete a full mock case investigation by applying their genetic genealogy analysis skills and genealogical research knowledge to build family trees and correctly identify the Jane or John Doe in the mock case. The student will carry out the investigation using the appropriate methods and standards learned in the previous courses. The student must accurately document all steps/methods performed. Upon completion of the investigation, the student will submit a fully comprehensive investigation report detailing the methods used, appropriate citations and records obtained, family trees built, and reasoning for findings and outcomes obtained. 3 credits.
